UN Climate Change summit in Copenhagen
In conjunction with our strategic partners, we prepared a briefing setting out the ways in which the tourism industry is working to embed sustainable practices into operations, in accommodation, attractions, activities and other areas, for the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Ed Miliband, ahead of his attendance at the UN Climate Change summit in Copenhagen. It also highlighted the importance of aviation to UK tourism, and called for consideration to be given to jobs and businesses that depend on aviation, the need for future airport expansion in South East England and for the Government to look at investing in both technological solutions for securing emissions reductions, as well as greener alternatives such as high-speed rail.
