Celebrating the new 'Golden Decade of Sport' at IMEX, Frankfurt
We are halfway through IMEX in Frankfurt (25-27 May) where business visitors to the Britain pavilion (stand F360) are invited to participate in Britain's own GPS golf putting simulator along with various sports themes as we position the UK as a top draw destination for meetings, incentives travel and events. This year our theme celebrates the new 'Golden Decade of Sport', including key sporting events such as the 2010 Ryder Cup Wales, 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games and the 2014 Commonwealth Games. We have been joined on the stand by 22 industry partners showcasing business tourism destinations, venues and professional suppliers around Britain.

| Destination Britain and Ireland 2010, Dubai
Destination Britain and Ireland, our largest trade event in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region (APMEA), took place from 10-13 May in Dubai. It attracted 230 key companies and industry specialists in total, providing a targeted platform for British and Irish tourism suppliers to network and to do business with around 100 key wholesalers and decision makers from 15 markets across the APMEA region. Over the course of the three days, 4,000 business appointments were conducted - generating good business leads with some partners contracting at the event itself. The next Destination Britain and Ireland will take place in spring 2011.
